“In these fascinating times……”

Brain plasticity, also known as neuroplasticity, is a term that refers to the brain’s ability to change and adapt as a result of experience.

It means that with new experiences, information or memories the neural pathways (neurons) themselves change.

There are ads for phone apps that through the use of puzzles and games is said to improve neuroplasticity. It is truly possible for someone who has brain damage either from a stroke or other condition,  to relearn lost skills – but using a completely different pathway in their brain. Other cells have taken over the functions of those no longer working properly.

Babies are born with billions of nervous system neurons, but they aren’t connected to each other. With experience, usually repeats of the same type of experiences, so that you behave, feel and think in the same ways, the default pathways form. By adulthood, as the saying goes “we get set in our ways” because we use the same neural pathways repeatedly.

Even as an adult, with new experiences or attempts to change ourselves, our neurons can change. This concept is discussed elsewhere on this site.

This is what is happening with the CoronaVirus. Or so I think…..

Daily life feels surreal, a different world we only saw on tv and in movies and pandemics. Doesn’t feel like real life because it is so different. We know that during Christmas week everything will be shut down and streets are empty, just like these days, but that is experiences as part of daily life – not a shift from it.

New experiences alter brain wiring and create new neural pathways. That is how we get used to new experiences or knowledge, by staying in it until our brain/selves restructure to accommodate this new reality.  In essence, breaking an old habit (our life) and creating a new habit.

I don’t know about you all, but each time I move (way too frequently) I feel as if my brain is being rewired for about 2 weeks up to a month. Ok, I am in my new home and need to go grocery shopping. I can’t follow old habits because I don’t where the local store is, what they will have, costs, etc. In that time it takes to get used to the newness and learn our way around again, our brain rewires, until suddenly we go to the store as if we lived there forever.

The Novel CoVid-19 Corona Virus In COVID-19, (Novel means never seen before, ‘CO’ stands for ‘corona,’ ‘VI’ for ‘virus,’ and ‘D’ for disease)

The Virus and the West’s response to it, are forcing us to rethink many things about ourselves, lives, culture, etc. Our brains are being rewired with this new reality and all the new programming and catch phrases.

CORONA – from the freedictionary.com

It is only the series of Corona Virus’ that have the protrustions. These particular definitions, not that I pick and chose and exclude those that don’t fit, all imply new life, electrical forces, and the brain, with the corona being something astrological or out of our normal world.

The word Corona is more fascinating when we see the English Corona derived from the Latin Qoran, which came from the Hebrew Qaran. The word itself means radiance, power, and salvation. Also very similar to the Holy Quran.

Corona is a word that expresses rays / radiance, power, and salvation.
The Hebrew word for Crown, Keter, is the highest spiritual world. All this implies the virus is a spiritual one, from the highesest levels. and it forces us to face our fears and doubts. (If you these words in other languages, please let me know.)

In contrast, the government and media use phrases to scare, which include “uncertain times” , “challenging times,” “unprecedented times” & “difficult times.”

They are reinforcing the fear, uncertainty/doubt/chaos, in something that is unique. It is different. It is the first ever Global Illness, and the news just amplifies people’s fears.

For many, “uncertainty” and the challenge of suddenly walking away from our lives induces fear. But because of this very uncertainty, we can consciously create the changes we want. Instead of wandering around our place trying to keep occupied with Netflix day and night to take our mind off boredom and what lurks “out there”, we can do something positive.

For example read books (free at our local library and other online resources) learn a new language, watch videos and learn a new skill, take online courses, etc. People (some) finally have the time and space to rediscover themselves and what they enjoy.

Videos on “The Weather Network” show animals taking to the streets in countries such as Spain and Thailand when people are on lock down indoors.  In Venice Italy, they noticed the canals clearing and fish swimming in them. The air pollution in India is clearing and the Himalayas are visible for the first time in decades!

Governments are finally giving handouts to the average person rather than the banks, there is such a greater level of kindness and respect for each other. I think this shows a global cleansing and shift on many levels. It seems we are reintegrating with ourselves and nature, rather than the corporate world which is partially shut down. We don’t know what kind of world we will return to eventually, or really what kind of world we WANT to return to, but we are all changed in some way by this experience. The question is – can we maintain these changes once we return to “normal” life.

Why is uncertainty bad?

According to the online Merriam-Webster Dictionary, UNCERTAINTY is defined as:
1: the quality or state of being uncertain
2: DOUBT, something that is uncertain

It says nothing about fear or the worst-case scenario.
It is our habits, traumas & minds that automatically see those.

Uncertainty is not fear of the unknown. It is just the unknown. We don’t know who will become sick or worse, what happens to income or our jobs, but some parts of it are certain. Yes, the fear build up from media hype, everyone terrified of being sick because flu has come to be equivalent to death, shortages, lack of employment, and all the bad stuff. But it doesn’t have to be. Its all in our heads. We have no control, there is little knowledge and things change day by day.

Its definitely very uncomfortable, but it allows all possibilities of change. It opens the way for something different, not necessarily bad or scary.  It is our mind/neural pathways that sees it that way out of experience and habit. We can change our habit of seeing things the way we do. What does it say about our lives when default is fear and terror and not having enough. And this is North America, a first-world country where many have more than enough, and some don’t. It is not a third world country with little infrastructure or resources for the many.

Stores have switched back to paper bags from plastic, its ok not to be running in overdrive mentally and physically exhausted all the time, finally having time for family or to catch up, learn new skills, read new books, new movies.  A very quiet simple life, making the best use of technology. And this gives us space and time to look at ourselves, our fears, and begin to create the world we want on the other side. We don’t have to just sit and be (a) patient. This is what we are being programmed with. In a sense, the world is being forced to change.

Passover, Easter, and most holidays at this time, celebrate the Spring Equinox which is/was/sort of the Astrological New Year. For the moment, lets ignore the Lunar and Solar calendars being out of alignment with each other and the Solar System. The new beginning (Aries; the Ram) charges out creating a new world where these ways of being are part of it. This is a once in a soul’s journey to see such a huge potential for a global shift of consciousness and love.

Now, about that second wave of CoVid we have been told may (or may not) come. It all depends on how well we keep this new mindset of love and caring. We are running out of time, and the consequences keep getting bigger and bigger, until we all get the hint to be kind, decent people. This break from ‘real life’ makes it much easier to shift than when running to work, school, children’s activities and everything else that keeps our minds numb and busy.

Enjoy these times of wonder and the shifts taking place.
We are living through the End Times and all that entails.
